Not sure what to say?

Tal was my sculpture teacher at SUNY Purchase in the 1980s. He believed in me and made me feel like an actual artist. We created a grant proposal together and he was so generous with his enthusiasm and time. LOVE YOU TAL!!!

I remember Tal Streeter from the seminal kite book, "Kite Craft". I'm not sure what inspired me to search, but here I am, six years after his departure...

visiting Storm King several autumns ago with my grown daughter on the prettiest of all fall days. we saw Tal's sculpture from many angles and distances. beautiful

I met Tal in the mid 1970's. He stayed with my wife and I one weekend in Princeton NJ where he was visiting to present a kite workshop for children via the Princeton Arts Council. His enthusiasm and patience were quite remarkable. Some wonderful creations were made. As a young MFA I was impressed that a real NY artist was interested in my work and was quite encouraging. Art of the Japanese Kite

Tal flyin' a kite

Tal was my sculpture professor at SUNY Purchase in the 1970's. He was knowledgeable, upbeat, and very encouraging to aspiring artists, something which I keenly appreciated at that time. A good soul, he melded an Asian sensibility with Western considerations or Art to make something that both personal and unique. Fly that kite, Tal!
