Read MoreI only learned a few months ago about Spence's passing. We were friends in law school and shared a love for ACC basketball (UNC for Spence, UVA for me). I recall attending the ACC tournament at Capital Center with Spence. He was a great guy, and I have always been sorry that we lost touch over the years. My sincere condolences to his family for this loss.

Sincere condolences to Spence's family from an early high school friend of his. I don't have any specific memory to share except that he was such a nice and sweet person, and was liked by everybody who knew him. Wish I'd known he went to UNC Chapel Hill, as I attended college not 30 minutes from there! But we'd lost touch by then. I know he'll be dearly missed.
