Talvikki Hella-Maria "Taija" Hoopes

To the family of my dear Taija, I just discovered this news, and I am deeply saddened for all of you as well as myself. I worked for her for years at National Bank of Alaska in Fairbanks, and I knew her well. She was a great mentor and a beautiful, wonderful, intelligent, gentle and quite humorous lady. I still live by many of the lessons she taught me. It was a privilege to know her, and I will always miss her. Most sincerely and deepest condolences, Kathy Chisholm.

Dear Hoopes Family,

I was so very sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I knew Taija from Ted's association with Dick in the weather service. She was indeed gracious, stunning, intelligent, and giving woman. She took me under her wing when I came as a new bride to Fairbanks.
And she taught me "how to shop!" Her artistic eye improved my wardrobe a great deal.

Your parents and Ted and I shared many a happy memory together. I remember them both very fondly.
