Coker Funeral Home - Sanger Obituary

Tamera “Tami” Sheree Fleischer, 60, of Sanger, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 11, 2025.  She was born on April 11, 1964, in Beaumont, Texas.

A visitation for Tami will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Coker Funeral Home in Sanger.  Funeral services are at 2:30 pm, Friday, January 17, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Sanger.  Pastor Grant Bowles will officiate the services.  Doc Fleisher, Mikey Selby, Bob Montgomery, Brian Sheppard, Tony Davis, and Mike Selby will serve as pallbearers.  Interment will be in the Sanger Cemetery.

Tami attended school in Denton and was a member of the graduating Class of 1982 at Denton High School, where she was a member of the Choir.  She furthered her studies by obtaining a bachelor’s degree at Texas Woman’s University, and then she received her degree in nursing to become a registered nurse.

Tami was an RN at Denton State School.  She loved each of her patients and took excellent care of them.  Additionally, she helped save many lives, working as a suicide screener.

She married the love of her life, William Joseph “Doc” Fleischer, on February 14, 2022, in Sanger, Texas.   A loving wife, mother, and “Grandma Di-Di,” Tami loved her family fiercely.  Her family and friends will miss her, but they are comforted knowing she has reunited with her mom, who was affectionately known as “Abba-D.”

Her memory will be cherished by her husband, Doc of Sanger; daughter, Tarah Davis and fiancé, Brian Sheppard of Denton; son, Mikey Selby, and wife, Allison of Era; stepfather, Robert “Bob” Montgomery of Cooke County; and two grandchildren, Tanner Davis of Denton and Wrenlee Selby of Era.  She was preceded in death by her beautiful mother, Dodi Montgomery.

Please offer your condolences to the Fleischer Family at www.cokerfuneralhome.com.

I knew Tami in jr. High (congress) and high school (DHS). I remember her as a delightful young lady. Even though we drifted apart after high school, the news of her passing makes me quite sad.

My dearest Momma,

I’m going to miss you so much. It’s so hard to find the words right now to write. I’ve been talking to you non stop. I know you hear me I can feel you with me. I’ll love you forever. I’ll hold on to our wonderful memories until we are together again. Please give me strength. Thank you for your unconditional love for giving me your sense of humor, and for being my mom.

Your loving daughter,

Tarah

I will cherish memories of Tammy in my heart forever as a very special person in my life never to be forgotten

My deepest condolences to the family. Tami and I sang together in the DHS choir. So many laughs and amazing memories are remembered today. She was so sweet, gorgeous, and down to earth. I lost touch with her over the years, but would run in to her occasionally at the local hospital. She will never be forgotten. May God give you all comfort and His glorious peace.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I have great memories riding horses with Tami in Shady Shores when we were young ♥

I will miss you Tami. You were such a good friend and a beautiful lady inside and out. No matter what was going on, you could always make me laugh.

Tami I will always hold you in my heart, until the day we see each other once more. You graced my life with your sweet heart and loving presence from the day I met you.
Thank you for allowing me to be your step mom — I love you
