Tammy Kay Long, 57, passed away Monday, November 16, 2020. Born March 6, 1963 in Oldham County, Kentucky, Tammy was the daughter of the late David Allen Downs, Sr. and Mary Joyce Tipton Downs.
Including her parents, Tammy was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Joyce Rhodes, and a nephew, Tyler Presley Bledsoe.
Tammy retired from the United States Army after 30 years of service, where she served in active duty for 27 years and for 3 years as a specialist in the Human Resources Department. Tammy loved her daughter, son-in- law and all of her family deeply, but her greatest joy was her three grandchildren, which she adored.
Tammy is survived by her daughter, Kayla Joyce Hunt and her husband Paul of Lawrenceburg; three grandchildren, Jordan, Landen & Macie Kay Hunt; her sisters, Debbie Marie Downs of Lawrenceburg, Patricia Ann Copas and her husband Richard and Edith Louise Bledsoe, all of Bagdad; a brother, David Allen Downs, Jr. of Glencoe; and several nieces, nephews and great nephews.
A private memorial service with military honors will be observed at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Bro. Harry Hebert will officiate the service.

Everyone that knew Tammy loved her. She dedicated most of her life helping others. When I would ask about her Grandkids her face would just light up. She loved those kids more than anything. Now those kids have a Guardian Angel watching over them. Prayers for all of you as you face the days ahead. Tammy, you will sure be missed by so many people.
