Tana Messersmith Nielson 1956 ~ 2006 In every crowd there must be that one person that is stable, well grounded, strong, and puts the cares of others before their own. That was Tana. She was a fighter and even as cancer tried to sap her strength, it couldn't sap her spirit. Even while fighting,...

Not sure what to say?

Dear Clayton and Family,
we are so sorry for you and your family to hear of your great loss. May the Lord grant you the strength needed for the difficult days ahead.
Hans and Inge Knubel and Family

You have my deepest sympathy on your lost. Tana was a dear friend whom I worked with at Southwest. She was always smiling and loved to talk about her family.

Clayton,
Roni and I share in your family's loss. The beautiful aura Tana projected was very evident -her warmth and kindness always present. It's easy to picture her smiling down on her beloved family as you all progress through life's journey. May God ease the burden of your loss through the promise of an eventual eternal reunion with Tana.

With kindest regards,
Rick Stevenson

Dear Clayton and Tana's children,

Thank you, Clayton, for calling me with the sad news of Tana's passing. I am sorry that I didn't make the funderal. Tana and I were roommates, along with Dominique and Verona Keller, at BYU in the late 70's. Tana was so much fun to live with. She was always happy and funny. Tana and I have talked a little off and on over the years, but not enough. About two years ago, I called her with the news that Verona had passed away. Earlier this year,...

Tana was the kind of person who always made you feel like you could do anything. Her smile was infectious and even if you did not want to be cheered she made you smile. She personified persistence. She loved her children very much and I know she has raised you to love the Lord and do your best. It has been a long time since I talked to Tana but her spirit is forever so I know those things have not changed. That was her dream for you long before you were born. Be strong and know she is...

To the Nielson Family: It was truly a privilege to work with Tana and to enjoy her sweet spirit in Salt Lake and in Phoenix. We are thinking of you and your family, and hoping you find comfort in knowing others share your sorrow.

Clayton - I am so sorry to hear about your lost. Tana sounds like a wonderful woman. She sounds like an inspiration to you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Clayton and Family, our thoughts and prayers go out to you.

I have many fond memories of Tana and her brother and sisters growing up. I will always cherish the kindness they shared with our family when we first moved to Tooele. I remember the many musical talents when we would get together. We send our love to her family and want you to know our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Our love always,
