Baier Family Funeral Services - Paxton Obituary

Tanner Michael Adkins, 22 of Buckley, died Monday, January 13, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.


A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Paxton Church of Christ, 400 W. Ottawa, Paxton with Pastor Dave Hohulin officiating.


Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, at the church followed by the memorial service at 2:00 p.m.  Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is handling arrangements.


Tanner was born December 3, 2002, in Urbana the son of Michael and Martha Theesfeld Adkins.  


He is survived by his parents of Buckley, his fiancée Araya Stack of Loda; a brother, Tyler (Sydni) Adkins of Loda, sister, Callie (Matthew) Barger of St. Marys, Georgia; nephews, Kayden and Everett Adkins, Phoenix Barger, a niece, Brixton Barger; grandmothers Mary Theesfeld of Buckley and Judith Adkins of Ludlow; his Aunt Cheri Adkins of Rantoul, Aunt Emily Souva of Rantoul, Uncle Jack Adkins of Ludlow and three favorite cousins.


He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Owen Theesfeld and Jack V. Adkins.


Tanner graduated from Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School in 2021.  He was co-owner/operator of TnT Trucking with his dad, Mike, and his brother and best friend, Tyler.


He enjoyed gaming, fishing, eating, working on trucks, spending time with his brother and nephews and spending as much time as possible with his precious Araya.  Family time was his favorite time.


Tanner was full of love and life.  He didn’t know a stranger.  He had a smile that would light up a room and the most contagious laugh.  Tanner touched the lives of many and will be missed by all who knew him.  He was a remarkable, loving and thoughtful son, brother, fiancé, uncle, nephew and grandson.

The first time I meant Tanner was at my sister Bonnie's house years ago I think he was about eight or nine maybe 10 my sister used to watch him he was an amazing person an amazing man and he will be deeply missed prayers and thoughts to the Atkins family
