Not sure what to say?

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

I had the privilege of being Tanya's colleague in the Laney College, San Francisco City College and San Francisco State University Labor Studies programs, and sometimes in the streets. She was a colleague, a comrade-in-arms, and a friend. She was real, a working class intellectual who never forgot her roots. I, and many others, will miss her. To paraphrase a gospel song adopted by social movements: "May the work that she has done speak for her."

Appreciating all the people who choose to honor my Sister and Best Friend. May the peace of the eternal Spirit continue to light your path. I continue to commune with her silently just as we did several times a day. Truly, our family has been blessed by her presence. Newellene aka Rev. FranCione (formerly Lewis/Allen)

Dear Tanya Russel's family and friends,
I only knew Tanya through the KPFA LSB and now when I read more about her, it confirms my deep feelings what a gracious, kind, bright woman she was and I can only hope that her kind and wise spirit can inspire our KPFA/Pacifica family to work for the common good.
In solidarity, paz, hope for the future generations that know Tanya shared for her family and friends, imagine twin grandchildren-WOW-

What a Proud and Gracious Lady. We went elementary, jr. high and high school, was in a social club together. God Bless

Tanya and I attended Lincoln Elementary
and Wilson Junior High school in Berkeley. She was a friend, but had not seen her in the last forty years.
May she rest in peace with our God.
