I've only just come across the guestbook, having read about the tragic death of this by all accounts remarkable young police officer on an LEO site. I feel profoundly saddened by this loss, even though I am from Canada and now live in England. The death of anyone in law enforcement touches the world at large. My condolences go to her family, friends and department.

Our prayers go out to Tara's family. Her Mother Sharon was my cousin. They were all always good people and we sure hate it that this grief has entered their life, that her precious life was cut short.

I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Tara but our cousan Maxine Patterson tells me what a great young woman she was. Her grandmother, Sheron, and I grew up together in the Olney, IL, area and I know if she was anything like her grandmother, she was great. You have my deepest sympathy at her loss.

Although I did not have the privilege of knowing Tara, the news of her passing saddened me, as it did other members of law enforcement in my department, and across the state.
