A Queen of E-Mail
Tara Y. Hobbs was crowned the "e-mail queen" by her friends. "She kept in touch with everybody -- everybody from middle school, high school, college, work, social life -- through e-mail," said her sister Sherian Hobbs. "She was always planning get-togethers."

And some of her best friends were her brothers and sisters. As the youngest of five children growing up on Long Island, Tara Hobbs was very close to Sherian, the oldest. "When Tara was 8 and I was 16, I took her with me on my dates," Sherian said. "The three of us ate ice creams and walked around in the neighborhood. She smiled a lot, never got into the way, and we didn't mind having her."

When Tara became an adult, she and her sister still belonged to a threesome, but the third person was new: Tara's boyfriend, Paul Lalanne, with whom she lived in Brooklyn. The three planned to open an office for Primerica, an insurance company under Citigroup. The week before the disaster, Tara, 31, who worked in the insurance branch of Aon, received her license to sell health and life insurance. She and Paul were planning to marry next year.

Not sure what to say?

I'm saddened by your untimely passing on 9/11. And I yearn for a world where terrorism is non-existent...
RIP.

I wish I could've known this beautiful soul. She seems like she was so happy, and just wanted to spread joy. I know her spirit will continue to bless this Earth for eternity.

I just happened upon this site while doing some research and I couldn't believe my eyes.

Tara Hobbs was the youngest sibling of a good friend of mine, Tammy Hobbs. We lived in the same neighborhood on Long Island, in Central Islip. Tammy was a dear friend and I was constantly at their house so I knew Tara and her other siblings, obliquely. The last time I saw Tara was when I went back to New York for a visit (I moved to Florida in 1974) and I could not believe how big she had...

Thinking of you! May God Bless the friends and family of Tara. RIP

After the tragedy, a local church in my town in California provided a unique memorial tribute, by printing one name of each individual lost on 9/11, on a red wrist band. Although the congregants may not have known those that were lost, we shared in the grief of a nation. I happened to take a wrist band with Tara Yvette Hobbs' name imprinted, and have kept it with me since, as a remembrance.

This is the first time I have seen a photo of her. She was a beautiful woman with an...
