Elliott was certainly one of the best radio announcers I have heard. I loved talking to him about the music he loved and if I ever had a question about the Swinging Years he always knew the answer. He will be missed by many and I certainly am one of the many. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Really enjoyed hearing Chris I. and Chris Brochon on Sat. Found out alot more about him and he was truly a great man.

Elliott and I were not particularly close but I always admired and looked up to him as my cousin and friend. I have been living and working in the "Greater Farmville Area" for a couple of decades now and an occassional listener to him on the radio, especially "CallFLO". I have been listening to the show all this week as callers have shared with Francis about how much Elliott meant to them and will be missed. I know I miss him greatly and am grateful to have known him as a friend, relative,...

When I think of Elliott, I think of compassion, kindness, a joy to have known him, a good man who loved helping the underdog and a man who deeply loved his family and career. My thoughts and prayers are with Elliott's family and loved ones, my heart is thankful I was lucky enough to have known him. I wish I could speak to him just once more and tell him how much I appreciated his support and friendship as one of those underdogs who sometimes just needed a kind word and big smile-Elliott will...

What a great loss to your family and to our community, he will be greatly missed by all. Elliott was a dear friend and student of mine (some years ago) and has done so much for Cumberland County. We have enjoyed his many programs on WFLO and the great memories that he brought to all. The wonderful ending on his Sat. show with Kate Smith and "God Bless America" will always be remembered.

In all my life, I have never met a better person than Elliott Irving. No matter how busy he was, he always took the time to speak to anyone who spoke to him. Mr. Irving, many years ago, gave me an autographed copy of "Rembering the Vees". Just this past April, I joked with him, at a wrestling event at Nottoway County High School, if he was going to write a book on the "Richmond Flying Squirrels" as well. He just laughed and laughed. I will always remember doing my Bill Clinton impersonation...
