TED HALSTEAD

Ted had a profound impact on my life. We met in college through mutual friends, and he invited me to join him on a trip through Latin America. We bought a Ford Econoline van that he took up to Dartmouth to build out, complete with a cookstove, water tank on top, and a toilet. We drove from Virginia down to Florida and through Texas, stopping to see my family along the way before we crossed into Mexico. I am very sorry to hear of Ted's passing away. He was my brother Peter's best friend since they were seven years old and as such I had stories about him or saw him throughout the years.
I saw Ted several times recently at gatherings at Peter's house where he took his time to be so kind and personable to me as he had always been.
Ted will be greatly missed by us. He was a wonderful human being.
