My high school years were not easy. My brother Joe was killed in Vietnam in the summer between my freshman and sophomore years. Ted's art room was a safe haven for me. I spent many many hours there. His kindness, guidance, generosity, and support had no limits. I probably took it for granted at the time but in retrospect I realize how important it was in shaping my life. Ted accepted everyone for who they were. He possessed a kind of quirky sophistication that was truly unique and wonderful....

On behalf of the Carr-Rollitt family, I extend our deepest condolences to Ted's family and friends. Ted rented our condo in Puerto Vallarta for many years during the winter months. We could not have asked for a more thoughtful or gracious guest. Although I never had the opportunity to meet Ted in person, I did have many phone conversations with him over the years. His warmth, kindness and humor were always readily apparent. May you rest in peace dear Ted.

My husband and I would like to extend heartfelt condolences to the family and many friends of this wonderful, very charming man Teddy.
He would enthrall us with his many stories of both days gone by as well as what he was making for dinner.
His wit... His smile... his shoes... his beanies...
He was loved! He will be missed!
May He Rest in Peace
Love
Janis and Mike Hughes

Remembering your great love story today and always.

He was a wonderful teacher, and friend. RIP

Ted was my high school art teacher. His casual teaching style, love of people and passion for the arts we're a major influence on my career choice as an art educator at The Martha's Vineyard Regional High School for 35 years. I am retired now, but have subsequently passed his lineage to hundreds of new successful art teachers, artists photographers and designers over the years.
