TEDDY DONALD DAVIS, 81, of Bland, VA, passed away Monday, September 1, 2025 at Wythe County Community Hospital. He was born May 25, 1944 in Bland, VA, the son of the late Carl & Birdie Lee Davis.
Teddy was a kind man who had a great heart for others. He never knew a stranger and would help anyone who needed help.
He loved to garden and mow grass and loved all flowers. He was an avid NASCAR fan and his driver was Mark Martin. He loved pitching horse shoes and was a multi tournament champion.
Teddy was a friend to many and loved his family and will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Brown & Birdie Lee Havens Davis, his son, Teddy Brent Davis, his brothers, Carl “Willie” Davis, Johnny “Gotch You” Davis, Glenn Davis and Raymond Davis, his sister, Linda Harden and step-parents, Paul & Stella Harden.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Jane Blankenship Davis; his sons & daughters-in-law, Greg & Liwana Davis and Glenn Ray & Janie Davis; his grandchildren, Glenn Ray Davis, Jr., Harley Davis, Megan Davis, Gary Austin & Danielle Davis and India Cimino; his great-grandchildren, Connor, Bryson, Carlie, Damien, Syvia and Ethan; special niece and nephew that he and Jane raised for many years, Mandy Clemons and Jeremy Blankenship; and special several nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 5, 2025 at 7:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Pastor Tom Maurer and Pastor Ira Buchanan officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until service time, 7:00 P.M.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Morning Star Cemetery in Bland.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Teddy’s honor directly to A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, 2508 Walkers Creek Valley Rd., Pearisburg, VA 24134, to help offset funeral expenses.
