Teddy was such an inspiration to so many students over the years, plus the most dedicated individual in support of the principles of the American Federation of Musicians. Teddy Moore was my flute teacher in the early 1960's. As a 10 year old, I remember my lessons in the basement of the Sherman Clay building in downtown Portland. Teddy was kind and patient, and gave me confidence in myself, as I learned to play the flute.
Now decades later, I have returned to take lessons again with the same lesson books. I can't help but think of Mr. Moore when I practice. His notations are still in the books I use.
