Ted Moore was a signifigant part of my life when he was operating Nendel's Motels. I am sorry to learn of his death

Teddy was such an inspiration to so many students over the years, plus the most dedicated individual in support of the principles of the American Federation of Musicians. A longtime board member of Local 99 AFM and MEAP Board...he always contributed his wisdom and insight to further the welfare of the organization and professional musicians. I will miss sitting next to you at board meetings, and will really really miss your humor. Thanks for everything. R.I.P. Teddy

Teddy Moore was my flute teacher in the early 1960's. As a 10 year old, I remember my lessons in the basement of the Sherman Clay building in downtown Portland. Teddy was kind and patient, and gave me confidence in myself, as I learned to play the flute.
Now decades later, I have returned to take lessons again with the same lesson books. I can't help but think of Mr. Moore when I practice. His notations are still in the books I use.
No doubt he coached many more students and...
