Teddy J. Roberts

Teddy J. Roberts, age 81, of Nancy, KY, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.

Teddy was born on March 21, 1943 in Faubush, KY to the late Charlie Roberts and Vida Cundiff Roberts.  He was a faithful member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where he served as Treasurer and Deacon.  He attended Faubush School and graduated from Nancy High School.  He later attended the University of Kentucky where he attained his Master’s Degree in Education.  He attributed much of his success to being in the FFA and member of the Farmhouse Fraternity.  Teddy retired as an Agriculture teacher in 1993 in the Pulaski County School System.  He started out at Nancy High School and finished his career at Pulaski County High School after 27 years.   He thought a lot of his AG students. Teddy was a past member of the Pulaski County Water Board.  He enjoyed farming, fishing and quail hunting.  After retirement he spent his time on his family farm where he enjoyed his John Deere tractors.  Most of all, Teddy was a devoted husband of 57 years and loved spoiling his wife.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family, visits from his grandchildren and telling them stories.  

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Godby Roberts, whom he married on June 4, 1966 in Ferguson, KY; his children, Shanna (Jerry) Barker of Nancy, Amy Roberts of Nancy, Brad (Lisa) Roberts of Nancy, Christy (Bobby) Eldridge of Nancy and Chad (Shellie) Roberts of Nancy; thirteen grandchildren, Brittany Burk, Brandon Barker, Hannah Blanton, Johnathon Blanton, Cole Eldridge, Connor Eldridge, Landon Roberts, Dylan Roberts, Mattie Eldridge, Colin Roberts, Zac Roberts, Jase Roberts and Boone Roberts; and two sisters, Lois Hatfield of Nancy and Betty Garner of Nancy.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Milburn Roberts, Vertrees Roberts, James Roberts; two sisters, Marita Pitman and Sue Tarter; and one infant sister, Pauline K. Roberts.   

Visitation will be on Monday, April 1, 2024 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.

His funeral service will follow on Monday, April 1, 2024 at 2:00pm at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Bro. Doug Carter officiating.  Burial will be at the Weddle Cemetery in Nancy, KY.  Pallbearers will be Teddy’s grandchildren.  

The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Gideon Bible Memorial Fund in memory of Teddy Roberts.
