Tera was a miracle for us. Her mother, Bonnie, and Tera's father were childless for 12 years. At this time, I was the pastor of the church they were part of. Our Bishop, James Gaines, wanted to join us in prayer and annoint Bonnie, believing that God would grant a child to them. He did so, and I can still smell in my mind the sweet smelling anointing oil he used. About 9 months later, Tera Jean was born. Tera in Greek, from the New Testament, means "sign" and is often used for "miracle". She...
