Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

Teresa “Terri” Lynn Leibee, 69, of Ballwin, MO passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at her home.

Teresa was born June 6, 1956 in Huntington, WV to the late Hascal Ray Hatten and Mary Loretta Akers. She was raised, lovingly, by her father and her step-mother Dicie Marie Hatten.

While Teresa frequently worked to help support her family in various positions during the years, most recently as an administrative assistant at Mercy Health, Teresa’s focus was her family and friends. She was a beautiful loving wife to her husband and a loving mother to her three children, staying at home to raise them through their childhood years.  Creative and artistic, she was very skilled in quilting and many fabric arts, as well as stained glass and many other crafts. She gave away her works to her many friends and family.  She enjoyed motorcycling with her husband and was a member of the Crossing Riders and also rode with the Patriot Guard as she was able. Teresa enjoyed traveling, taking cruises with her family and friends and RVing with her husband. She made many life-long friends on these trips. She also enjoyed gardening, decorating her flowerbeds and pots during the spring and summer.

Teresa accepted Christ as her savior at a young age and served and loved Him throughout her life. She attended The Crossing Church in St Louis. She loved Christian music and listening to JOY FM.

In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her infant brother David Collins, brother Jim Hatten, sister Brenda Phillips, step-father Wade Akers, father-in-law Robert Leibee and brother-in-law Bruce Leibee.

Survivors include her loving husband of 49 years R. Keith Leibee; daughter Katy Hatten (Ramon Garza), sons Michael Leibee (Michael Brandenberg) and Matthew Leibee (Katie); mother Dicie Hatten; sisters Roberta Gangl (Kirk), Brooke Iannetta, Jennifer Akers - Miller (Scott); brother Gary Hatten (Arlene); grandchildren Emma Garza and Alex Garza; mother-in-law Hazel Leibee; sister-in-law Sherri Leibee; brother-in-law Karl Leibee (Miriam); aunts Janie Phillips Lapina, Connie Staley, Bonnie Jordan (Larry); uncles John Francis (Martha), Ray Francis (Charlene) and many extended family members and friends.

Services:  Visitation at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Friday, December 12, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in honor of Teresa Lynn Leibee to a favorite charity of your choice, The Crossing at Chesterfield, JOY FM St. Louis or the American Heart Association. Not sure what to say?

I knew Terri for a long time, she was such a kind spirit and as time passed we started sharing life stories. I felt such a comfort when in her presence. We started sharing things outside of my work and developed a very special relationship. I am grateful we went to get Mexican food a few weeks ago.
I am going to miss her and pray for much comfort and peace for Keith.

I loved how she would reminisce of her little girl with her beautiful smile. May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

I feel so blessed to have had Terri in my life. We not only shared quilting and crafts but she was the most sharing, kind and thoughtful person I knew. Anytime my husband or I were sick, there was a meal dropped at our door. She often put others before herself. I will have a huge void in my life without her but Terri will always be in my heart.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. My heart is choosing to remember all the memories I have of Teresa, her kindness, caring and Love she gave to everyone around her! I Love Her and will miss her so much!

So sorry to hear this, we have some fond memories with you guys in south Texas but it is comforting to know we will get to spend all of eternity in heaven together. May God Bless & Keep you Keith- we love you

Many years ago, someone told me that angels walk among us. I never forgot those words. Now I know why. There is no doubt she was an angel who I grew to love and cherish so much. The most loving, caring, kind and generous person. Such a gifted person with all her many hobbies, all hand needlework, sewing machine projects, stained glass art and a fabulous cook. All of her sewing pals will miss her beyond words. She was deeply devoted to her family and many friends who loved her. I am so happy I...
