I just learned of Tia Tere's passing, I'm so sorry! It has been quite a few years since I had seen or talked with her. I remember ..... her warm smiling eyes, her beautiful smile, laughter, sense of humor (The Q-tips), wit & the grace & love she always showed everyone. She always made everyone feel welcome, no matter the occasion! I will remember her with love.....❣

About 1975/76, as a teenager I made one of my first trips to El Paso. I was so interested in my family history I wanted to meet my "Samaniego" side. My father and my grandmother and I were invited to meet my great aunts and great uncles at one of their homes. I was welcomed with open arms and love from people I didn't know but shared the same name and blood with. Over the years, I tried to keep in contact. Aunt Teresa would send me Christmas cards, she'd take my calls, tho they were so infrequent and she would answer my questions about her brother, my grandfather Guillermo. She was a wonderful, caring and beautiful woman. May her journey home reunite her with those family and loved ones who have gone before her. RIP Tia
