Not sure what to say?

Teresa was an exceptionaly warmhearted and helping friend. Her passing leaves us very sad. We first met her during her visits in Ottawa when she generously helped us and our children during house moves. Later, she hosted our several stays at her home in Fenton when she introduced us to Magda and Jacek's families. To them we extend our heartfelt condolences.

Magda, Jacek and family, we were very deeply saddened to hear about the loss of your dear beloved mother. Teresa was for us a friend, an adopted family member, and a companion. We will always remember her generosity with her time and help. In 1998 she helped us move to our present house! She was and always will be an inspiration to us and our friends. Through her own life's experiences she taught us how to cope with difficult situations. We called her “Ciocia” which translates to auntie and...

Teresa was a very kind heart person to all of us Bur's Family members. I will miss her and I will always remember her the good times that we all have shared with her. May she rest in peace with GOD in Heaven. Amen.

Teresa was a consummate hostess, always ready with a warm greeting and often a tasty treat when I knocked on her door, day after day, for so many years of my childhood. She taught me to skate on rags on her well-polished wood floors when the wax was wet. And when I was older, she and Stephen shared a world view with us that Walter Cronkite did not. I once interviewed Teresa for an elementary school assignment on Christmas. She shared with me a riveting story of a WW2 Christmas when the...

Magda, Jacek and families: I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I can't say that I knew her as well as I would have liked, but I knew her well enough to find her sense of community and her zest for life an inspiration to me. In my formative years there was a short list of adults who influenced my life philosophy; Teresa was on that list. Godspeed to her and all of you as well.

Jacek,
My Thoughts and Prayers are with you and your family.

Magda, Dave, Adam, Jacek, Stephanie, Olivia, Matthew and Nicholas,
Your Mother, Grandmother, Teresa along with Stefan were two of the most influential people in our (the Bur's) lives. Teresa taught us Polish, European and Soviet history with her many stories and lectures at your kitchen table, while we enjoyed your most delicious home-made delicacies.
Stefan taught us the art of deer hunting and appreciation of God's gift to Michigander's, the beautiful Hiawatha National Forest. The...
