Owens and Brumley Funeral Home - Burkburnett Obituary

Teressa Faye Whitney Kurszewski, 63, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 11, 2020 in Wichita Falls, Texas surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery Pavilion with Pastor Bobby Scott officiating. The family will receive friends between 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett.

Teressa was born on June 17, 1957 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Cora Devoria (Elliot) Whitney and Forest Dellno Whitney, Jr. On June 30, 1972, she married the love of her life, Robert David Kurszewski, of Gresham, Wisconsin, at the Burkburnett Church of God. Together they raised three children; Joseph, Lance and Alisha.

Teressa was a homemaker. She took pride in baking, scrapbooking, making floral arrangements and most of all, spending time with her five grandchildren. She enjoyed listening to all kinds of music and attending craft shows with her husband. Teressa was an avid animal lover; especially her beloved chihuahuas. She loved to decorate for all holidays; but dying easter eggs with all of her grandchildren was her favorite. Everyone loved her candy bowl – always bringing sweetness anywhere she went.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cora and Forest Whitney, along with her four sisters and three brothers. We can only imagine the homecoming celebration at Heaven’s gates.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Robert (Bob) Kurszewski; three children and their spouses, Joseph and wife Tammy, Lance and wife Bridgett, and Alisha and husband Shane, all of Burkburnett; seven grandchildren, Chase and wife Macy, Abigail and husband Mason, Kyleigh, Kyson and Kabrey, all of Burkburnett; one great-granddaughter, Bryer May; and her life-long best friend, Lynne Farmer of Burkburnett.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Sheridan Medical Lodge for all their love and care given to Teressa.
