Pittsburg Funeral Chapel - Pittsburg Obituary

Teri passed away after a short illness.  She touched many people’s lives through her volunteer work and her love of life.

Teri was born in Pittsburg Ca and graduated from Pittsburg High School (proud pirate), Class of 1967.  Teri and about 20 of her co-pirates stayed close and shared many good times and lunches over the years.

She officially became a member of the Ambrose Lions Club in 2008 but she had been working side by side with her husband Duke for many years before serving her community through various events like Pancake Breakfasts, BBQs, Food Giveaways, Eyeglass recycling and sorting, Lions Center for the Visually Impaired and working weekly at the Lions Closet Thrift Store for 2 ½ years.

When she wasn’t volunteering, she was traveling with her husband and friends to various locations. Whether it was a cruise or a road trip Teri found joy in everything she did.

She was known as a very experienced bingo player, and she loved going to the casinos.

Teri worked in retail for many years starting at a young age at her dad’s store, Jack’s Market.  She also worked in Klein’s Dept Store, downtown Pittsburg and Chevron in Concord before she went on to work at Fry’s Grocery store where she met the love of her life, Charles “Duke” Dunham.

Teri and Duke’s adventure began over 35 years ago.  Teri always told her mother that God sent Duke to her.  As fitting with this unique and loving couple they were married at A Little White Chapel in Las Vegas with its Drive through Tunnel of Vows.

Teri is survived by her loving husband Duke, Heather (Jake) and baby Grayson, her stepson Bishop, her father Jack (Paula), her brothers Jeff (Christine), Greg, and sister Lori and numerous nieces and nephews.

Since Teri enjoyed wearing colorful outfits and Hawaiian shirts, the family encourages you to wear them for her services.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023, at 11:00am with a service at 11:30am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Burial following at Oak View Memorial Park Cemetery, 2500 E. 18th Street, Antioch. Family and Friends are invited to join the family at the Lions Center for the Visually Impaired 175 Alvarado Ave., Pittsburg.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lions Center for the Visually Impaired or a charity of your choice.
