In 2006, we had engaged Erica Jong as a keynote speaker at the San Miguel Writers' Conference. She cancelled at the last minute, and we tapped Terry Hill to give the closing keynote address. He was a sensation. His address was one of the finest we had had, before or since. It was substantive, beautifully organized, and funny, of course. -- Terry was an enthusiastic participant in our Conference for many years. He was a real love of a person.
