Jessie, Jessie, Claire and Tammy,

My folks passed along the sad news about Terry last week. So much time has gone by, but my memories of Terry and your household will always be clear and happy.

Terry had a gift that will continue to live in the hearts and minds of the dozens of young men that somehow always found reasons to hang around the Shields home. (you girls might have had something to do with that). You see, despite being surrounded and tormented by so many females in his life, Terry was always the finest example of what it is to be a man.

Here's to all of the rest of us living up to that model.

Hope you are all well.

- Matt

Jessie and family

Terry was a friend for forty years or so. We worked together on the Los Padres and Shasta-Trinity forests. I will always have a place in my thoughts and prayers for you and Terry and your family.

Jessie,
What a guy, what a loss. Terry was a joy as a workmate and made the National Forests a better place.
I'm in Washington with my grandchildren or would certainly be there to celebrate Terry's life and the way he touched so many of us.
Vicki and I will hold you up in prayer.

Jessie,
I'm very saddened by the passing of Terry. The short time I've known you and Terry (2 yrs) have impacted my life so much. I've never met anyone with such a positive outlook on life and family and friends as Terry. What a privilege to have known him.
My love to you and your family.
