Wilmot, NH - Terri D. Fajans-Wilcox died peacefully with her two children by her side on Friday, January 28, 2022 at the age of 53.
Terri was born on January 20, 1969 in Garden City, NY to Sandra and Kenneth Fajans.
After graduating from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY and beginning a Master’s degree in social work at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, Terri fell in love with her husband, Lee Wilcox. Terri and Lee had their first child, Kelsey, soon after Terri graduated from Tulane. To be closer to family, the new family relocated to New Hampshire, where they had their second child, Colby.
Terri’s life revolved around raising her children to be tough, responsible, determined, and witty. She was dedicated to providing Kelsey and Colby with the best educational, athletic, and extracurricular opportunities.
When the kids were old enough, Terri decided to pursue her passion for gardening by beginning her own business, Terri Wilcox Garden Design. In no time, Terri’s beautiful landscape designs were all over New London and the surrounding area. As an extremely talented entrepreneur and garden designer, Terri’s business flourished.
Many people in the community might know Terri from meeting her at morning coffee in the Baynham’s building on Main Street in New London. For more than 15 years, Terri began her day with an iced tea and friends, cracking jokes on the leather couches. Her laugh and sense of humor were contagious and she never failed to make the perfect sarcastic comment.
In July of 2018, Terri was diagnosed with a very rare cancer called non-small cell ALK lung cancer. She never let the diagnosis define her life, and continued to travel, run her business, and enjoy life to the fullest. She became an important member of a community of people living with the same type of cancer and actively raised awareness and funds for research.
Terri is survived by not only her two children, Kelsey and Colby, her mother, Sandy Fajans, and her three siblings, Ken, Cheryl, and Eric Fajans, but also by a robust community of loved ones and friends.
A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church. Jay MacLeod will officiate the ceremony. A livestream of the service will be available at https://boxcast.tv/channel/e5uz9vdesut2y63fnvet.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Terri’s life. Please wear a mask while at the service.
Terri loved flowers. If you know her preferences, please send flowers to her home at 276 Kearsarge Mountain Rd., Wilmot, NH 03287. Alternatively, in lieu of flowers, please send donations to ALK cancer research at bit.ly/terriwilcox.

Over all these years I have carried Terri's voice in my head. Her voice had this beautiful wispiness that felt regal to me. I have always treasured our journey of going from girls to teens to women to the beautiful summer day I watched Terri and Lee marry under the magnificent tree in front of the Cathedral to seeing her be Kelsey's and Colby's Mom.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
She will be missed.
