Terry "Hoot" Hoyt

Terry 'Hoot' Hoyt, 56, of Sioux City, Iowa died Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City after a noble fight with cancer.

Terry was born September 16, 1952, to Marvin and Nancy (Skelton) Hoyt and grew up in Missouri Valley, Iowa. He lived in Des Moines, Omaha and then Sioux City. He was a skilled craftsman and adventurous traveler, he loved life and lived it with passion. He was an avid pilot, motorcycle enthusiast, nature lover and storyteller. Terry will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

Survivors, in addition to his parents; are brothers and sisters-in-law, Dan and Dale Ann Hoyt, and Jim and Cathy Hoyt all of Missouri Valley; nieces, Sarah Hornbeck and Annemarie Hoyt; nephews, Joel, Adam, Ben and Mac Hoyt and other extended family plus numerous friends.

A farewell service and distribution of ashes will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the June Nylen Cancer Center.
