Not sure what to say?

Dr. Hulbert taught Old Testament Survey and Life of Christ.  He was a tremendous story teller who considered the geography of the Holy Land to be the 5th gospel.  "There they were camped on the Plains of Moab..." And so would begin a story in which you felt as if you were there hearing and smelling the camels and sheep, huddling around campfires near tents.  Dr. Hulbert would describe exactly what you saw in every direction.  He would place 15 dots on a map of Israel and tell us to label them...

I will always cherish his godly example especially his kindness to me as just one of hundreds of students he taught in the first year of Graduate studies. Always gracious, gentle and kind -- never judgmental. May all his students follow the Master as closely as did Dr. Hulbert. Class of 1994

Heaven gets all the more desirable as saints like you join the King of Kings. My eyes are misty to know such a godly, humble, and kind person has departed earth.

If anyone had the gift of teaching, Dr Hulbert did. His class was my first exposure to CIU in the spring of 1979. Leroy Zumack M Div 1982

His Sandals
Real life begins @ 89, no shadows and no veils. A special birthday from this life, no sorrows pain or cares!
Dear Dr. Hulbert, with eye sight clear and knees no longer bent. Your seeing Him whom your soul loved where times no longer spent.
Your kindness to this student girl, so many years ago. Will add a sparkle to bright a crown, where @ His feet you'll throw.
Your gone but all you've left behind, it will not be forgotten! For in so many hearts like mine, your...

Dr. Hulbert has removed his sandals from off his feet now - he is with YHWH! (Ex. 3:5) I look forward to seeing him in Glory.

I had the privilege of being a grader for Dr. Hulbert's gospels class while I was in seminary. He was such a kind and humble man. I'll never forget how he made sure to have his office fridge full of Diet Cokes for me, since I'd told him that was my soft drink of choice. He was also the dean under whom my dad first served as a professor at the seminary, and I know they enjoyed serving the Lord together here, as they are now seeing Him face to face. My prayers are with Jean and their whole...

I too was one of Dr. Hulbert's seminary students from 2007-2009 and learned so much through his teaching, passion and humble spirit. Absolutely wonderful professor and follower of Christ! He definitely had a major impact on my life, just as much outside of the classroom as he did inside. Can't imagine how many people are in heaven because of Dr. Hulberts life!

Dr. Hulbert will be definitely missed. His teaching was inspiring and grounded. More important, the care he showed for his students was inspirational.
