I am continuously reminded of the many gifts Terry Jenkins gave this world. I was at an Alzheimer´s event yesterday and in discussion with a person at the table found that Teri was one of the original founders of the association In Hampton Roads. Her legacy lives on with the hospice house now opened, the Together We Can Foundation, the Alzheimer´s Association, the mental health housing off West Neck, and so much more. We can only hope that her spirit of giving proves to be infectious. She is...

I extend my condolences. Terry's cordial and fervent spirit made this world a better place. She was a genuinely kind soul, graceful, and easy to talk to, in and out of the office. Gone, but not forgotten. April Warner

I first met Terry Jenkins, five years ago when she became my neighbor and Westminster Cantabarry. She discussed her vision for a much needed hospice house to provide compassionate, end-of-life care for the citizens of Hampton roads. She guided, encourage, and inspired our board to bring her dream to reality. The Dozoretz house of Hampton roads will open its doors in 2024. It will always be a testimony to her dedication and vision. A life well lived. Paul Schellhammer MD.

Recalling many memories of good times with Terry and Larry in her early days at Virginia Beach Comprehensive Mental Health. Relaxing together was fun, as she was ever intense during the work day. She was commuting to Richmond working on her Doctorate, hatching plans for her stellar career in Virginia Beach. Terry was a whirlwind of great ideas and strong leadership, had a good heart, seemed tireless at public service. At that time, she was well received at educating local nursing home...

Terry was truly a force for good in our community. She was responsible for starting the local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association in Norfolk. She began by offering Alzheimer's support groups that provided comfort and resources to many family caregivers navigating the lonely journey of this cruel disease. She was there for them when no one else was. Her light will shine bright in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy lives on. She will be deeply missed.

Terry was a close friend and colleague for over 40 years. She was one of the hardest working people I have ever known and she constantly worked to make things better for those around her, especially for those who needed her voice. I can still hear her say "good enough is never good enough." She inspired all who worked with her to approach life the same way. I will miss you Terry!!

Terry was a truly exceptional woman. I had the pleasure of working with her through the Community Services Board and the Social Services Board. Following her lead, I joined in founding the Together We Can Foundation. Everything Terry did was for the benefit of her community and underserved, special persons. If Terry was involved, success was always a given. She led by example and her influence can be seen and felt throughout the city. She was the most selfless person I've known and one of...
