Terry Jones Obituary

On Thursday, June 2, 2016, at the young age of 57, Terry Samuel Jones passed away unexpectedly at his home. Terry was an amazing man who never met a stranger. He was an awesome, loving, and extremely proud Dad! A wonderful son, brother, and friend who had the ability to make anyone smile! Terry was a great handyman and was always the family's "go-to" guy for fixing and repairing anything! He enjoyed sports, music, and trying to beat his kids at Wheel of Fortune. He had a great heart and would do anything for anyone; a gift he passed on to his children!

Terry was the son of the late Donald Jones.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Kelly Jones; son and daughter in law: Timothy and Tammie Jones; his precious mother Dorothy Clemmer Jones all of Belmont, North Carolina; his two brothers and sisters-in-law: Rick and Donna Jones of Gasontia, North Carolina; along with Gary and Lisa Jones of Mount Holly, North Carolina; two beautiful granddaughters: Hydee and Gracie Jones. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A graveside, committal and inurnment service to honor Terry will be held 10 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2016 at Hillcrest Gardens in Mount Holly, North Carolina with Pastor Bobby Callaham to officiate the service.

Dot, I'm so very sorry for your and the family's loss. Haven't seen you in years but Terry and I used to play together. I was in the 4th grade when we move back to N.Belmont. Terry would come across the railroads tracks to our house to play. His peaceful eyes are the same as I remember as a kid. With Love, your cousin, Linda Baker, J.D. and Sue's daughter.

So shocking and sad to hear this. I grew up with Terry and watched him play ball for many years. He was a great catcher. All the girls thought he was the best looking thing ever. Terry always had a smile that would light up the room. Rest in peace my friend. You will be missed. Prayers for his family, may you find peace and comfort in the Lord during this time.

Terry was my first puppy love. So many memories riding by on my bicycle and playing ball on the stowe mill village and skipping school. So many little league games attended and so proud of the good looking catcher who was my sweetie. To the family my prayers out to you. He left memories with so many. I thought he was the cutest thing in north belmont. Rest in peace Terry until we all have that north Belmont reunion in heaven. Thanks for the memories
