Not sure what to say?

Mrs. Scharstein was my 4th and 5th grade teacher (93-94/ 94-95). I remember receiving a hand written post card from her before the start of my 4th grade year at Newington Elm. She loved our class and we loved her so much, she moved up with us and became our 5th grade teacher. I am not sure what made me search for her but I did. To find that she is resting peacefully, brings me both joy and sadness. She was an awesome teacher. She taught me things that I still use in life, at age 38. I now...

I just found out today. I wish I could have told her how much she meant to me as a student. She is and was my all time favorite teacher. I had her in both the sixth and eighth grades. She always frank, funny and too the point. Challenging me to think outside the box, she was the only teacher I ever had that seemed to truly understand her students and now how to push them further. She had a profound effect on my life, as I know she did on so many of her students. I only regret I wasn't...

Mrs.Scharstein, What an Awesome Woman! Mrs. S made me believe that possibilities were ENDLESS & the sky was the limit!Although she is no longer physically with us, she will forever be in my Heart. Mrs. S thanx for pushing me, making work to my full potential, and not letting me settle for Average. May You Rest In Peace...My Sorrow Is Endless. Dear Melinda and Harry,
We have been out of town and Ashley just called us with the sad news of Terry's passing. Please know that Shelley, Ashley, Will, Bobby, and I are thinking of you both and you remain in our prayers.
The Dearharts

Terry Scharstein was an exceptional woman who touched many with her enthusiasm, good humor, hard work, and magic. God bless her children and help them in this time of sorrow.

My prayers and thoughts are with you. Terry was a tremendous spirit and inspiration. The world was a much better place for her being here. She was an emblem of dignity, respect, grace, and compassion. She will be missed.

Terry was a great and dear friend, with whom we were always happy to share time and laughs. We will cherish our time with Terry, Ed, Melinda, Harry, Watson (the dog) and Lopina (the spider). We look forward to seeing two beautiful bald eagles on the Brisbane River soon. Love always.

Mrs. Scharstein taught me throughout middle school as well as my sister. She was one of my absolute favorite teachers and I will always remember her for the love she showed us each and everyday inside the classroom and out. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. I hope you can take comfort in knowing what an impact your mother made on so many lives in the short time we were blessed with her presence. You will be deeply missed Mrs. Scharstein.

Terry,

It was a privilege to make your acquaintance and an honor to meet the legend behind all the Ms Scharstein stories! Your generous spirit and wisdom lives on.
