Terry “Haney” Thompson, age 83 of Nappanee, IN, died at 11:34 am on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at his residence.  He was born on March 26, 1939 in Warsaw, IN to Norman and Phyllis (Hare) Thompson.  Terry was raised by his mother and step-father, Joe Haney. Mr. Thompson was a 1957 Nappanee High School graduate and lived his entire life in the greater Nappanee area.  After graduation from high school, Terry enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Japan.  He has been an active member of the North Webster American Legion Post #253 as well as the Nappanee American Legion Post #154.  Terry worked as a meat cutter for Snyder’s Market in North Manchester, IN, Jones’s Market in Leesburg, IN, and Bales Butcher Shop in Syracuse, IN.  Mr. Thompson is survived by his 3 daughters: Tonya (Gary) Thompson-Howard of Indianapolis, IN, Tracy Thompson of North Webster, IN, and Ty (Jared) Clark of Indianapolis, IN; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and 2 half-brothers, Rick (Kathy) Thompson and Marshall Thompson, both of Warsaw, IN.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 siblings, Norman Thompson and Connie Neely.  Cremation will take place and Celebration of Life services will be held from 1-5 pm on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at the Warsaw American Legion Post #49.

Extremely sorry for the loss of your father. Condolences go out to family & loved ones. Terry was a good friend. We had great times, so many memories. We loved playing the marble game with Terry. We will miss him a lot. His visits to Florida was always a good time & when I visited him in Indiana. Can´t really say enough, we were friends for at least 20 years. RIP. U.

Terry was a classmate and friend. Always cheerful and and a funny story to share. A real down-to-earth person.
