Terry Winston Welborn, Sr., 72, passed away at his home in Folly Beach, SC, on February 21, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Dawn, and his parents, Irvine Smith and Jule Welborn.
He is survived by his son, Terry Welborn, Jr., of Fernandina Beach, FL; his brother, Ralph Welborn, two nieces and several cousins.
Mr. Welborn graduated from Bradwell Institute after which he attended North Georgia College. While out of college one semester, he was drafted and served with the Marine Corps in Viet Nam in 1966 and 1967, earning a purple heart and many other commendations. Upon his discharge, he returned to college, graduating from Georgia Southern University. Mr. Welborn worked mostly in Real Estate. He was a man of many talents, one of which was the ability to make people laugh with his wit and stories. He had many friends from all walks of life and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be 10-11 am, Tuesday, February 27, 2018, in the social hall of Midway United Methodist Church, followed by the funeral service led by Pastor and friend, Dickie Welch, at 11:00 in the sanctuary. Burial will be in the church cemetery immediately after the service.

Terry Wellborn was so smart and full of humor. Some of our Jesup girls loved to visit Hinesville to hang out with him and laugh ourselves silly. He was a good friend to so many people.I am so sorry to hear this news. Will hold the memories of him in my heart.
