Read MoreI worked with Thad at UC Berkeley and he would share his cooking experiences with me. We were discussing how to cook rice and I told him how my mother did it. A few days later, I was entering the office where he worked and in a loud voice "your Mother was right" the rice came out perfect. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He'll be missed.

I read the obituary and had to smile. Most obituraies are somber but this one was a gift. A true summary of Thad.
