Services for Thea Jean Dean, 96 years young, of Flint will be held on December 23, 2023. Visitation starts at 10:00am with the service following at 11:00am in the chapel at Jackson’s Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home in Tyler Texas.
Bro. Lee Welch and Ricky Clements will be officiating.
Burial will follow at Flint Cemetery under the direction of Jackson’s Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home.
Thea went to be with her Lord in the early morning hours of December 21, 2023, while at her home with family.
Thea Jean Cone was born November 27, 1927, in Noonday to W.T. and Ealey McKinney Cone. She was the last survivor of six girls and two boys. Thea married G.L. Dean on January 17, 1944. They remained married until G.L.’s death on May 2, 2017. Thea graduated from business school and eventually retired from the Smith County Clerk’s Office. She enjoyed going out to eat and visiting with friends. She was always ready to play games and enjoyed listening to music. She was a member of Flint Community Church where she loved the SOS Ladies meetings on Wednesdays.
Thea was preceded in death by her husband, G.L. Dean of Flint, her daughter, Kathy Dean Thomasson of Olathe KS, her parents, W.T. and Ealey Cone and five sisters and two brothers of Noonday.
Thea is survived by two sons, Randy Dean of Flint, Don Dean and wife Donna of Flint, son-in-law Lynn Thomasson and wife Barbara of Tyler, seven Grandchildren, thirteen Great Grandchildren and five Great, Great Grandchildren.
Waylon Adams, Randy Dean, Don and Donna Dean will provide music for the service to honor Thea’s love of music.
Pallbearers will be Chris Dean, Stacy Slater, Taylor Skaggs, Tyler Skaggs, Roger Boggs, and Scott Ray.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Aubrey Thomasson, Dusty Dean, Camron Mitchell, Lynn Thomasson, Billy Whitlock, Jimmy McKay and Tom McKay.
The family would like to thank Kindful Health Hospice for their wonderful care of Thea.
If desired, memorials may be given in Thea’s honor to Flint Community Church.
