I watched the Vienna New Years celebration on TV and saw her contribution acknowledged. Music she used to say was more important to her than food. She was a memorable person who lived through much history. May she rest in peace. She is remembered.

Mrs. Iervolino was a remarkable woman. She lived through amazing history: first as a girl in Berlin raised by her parents and a strict nanny, then the trip to Switzerland and ultimately to New York. She memorialized her childhood in the continuing memory of the 1936 Olympics and the sight of Jesse Owens. She was a woman of strong opinions and a woman with a great love of music. She used to say that music was more important to her than food. By the time she passed away she was a walking...
