Born Aug. 31, 1924 in Bunker, Missouri, she was the daughter of Roy and Winnie (Baker) Thompson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Godfrey Baptist Church.

Read MoreThe Chappell´s were our next door neighbors for several years when I was a child, and I recall Thelma as a lovely, gentle person. I was thrilled when her 1st baby was born. I loved visiting and seeing the baby. Thelma was always very kind and welcoming to me. I don´t recall ever seeing her again after we moved, but she certainly made an impression on me and gave me sweet memories from my childhood.
