HARKINS, Thelma M. - Of Flint, age 90, died Sunday, March 11, 2007 at Fostrian Manor. Visitation 6-8PM Tuesday and 1-8PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements will be held at 11AM Thursday March 15, 2007 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Dr. John S. Musgrave officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Make A Wish Foundation or a charity of one's choice. Thelma was born in Clear Lake, Iowa on September 18, 1916, the daughter of the late Elmer and Ina Mae Hansen. She was a resident of the Flint area most of her life. Thelma was employed with General Motors Buick Main offices in Flint as a Comptometer Operator with 10 years of service. On August 20, 1955 she married George Harkins. Thelma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She cared deeply for her family and provided a warm and happy home. Surviving are her husband, George; children, Jeanne (Doug) Warner, Liz (Darrell) Stevens, Linda (Bob) Brewer, David Harkins, Rex (Noreen) Harkins, Gladys Jackson; grandchildren, Kirk (Rhonda) Warner, Tony (Gwen) Warner, Vicki (Jeff) Fichera, Doug (Renae) Warner, Kevin (Mary) Shultis, Karen (Rich) McLavish, Amy Brewer, Mike Brewer, Tyler Stevens, Alan (Jennifer) Harkins; 26 great-grandchildren; 15, great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Marie Carr, Flossie Gifford and Lollie Gifford; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren, Dana Warner, Traci Warner and Joan Harkins; son-in-law, Jay Jackson.
