Thelma Cumbow Holt
Mrs. Holt, 93, of Charlotte, formerly of West Chester, Ohio, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 8, 2007.
Thelma was born June 22, 1913 in Mt. Healthy, OH. She was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Cumbow and Vinnie T. Cumbow.
She attended school, was employed by the Cincinnati Bell Telephone Company, was married, and a resident most of her life in Cincinnati, (Mt. Healthy), Ohio.
Thelma married Paul Matthew Holt on June 22, 1946. They were long-time members of the Dayspring Church of God in Cincinnati, where Paul served as an Elder. Thelma was a homemaker who loved to cook, sew, and take care of her home and family. She immensely enjoyed flowers, was an avid bird-watcher, and was challenged by word puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul, and their son, Terry Michael Holt; two brothers, Ross and Harry; and two sisters, Myrtle and Gladys.
She is survived by her stepdaughter, Barbara A. Toney of Charlotte; stepson, Richard A. Holt of Grand Haven, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Sharon Holt and Ken Peace, both of West Chester, Ohio; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews who held a special place in Thelma's heart.
The family would like to thank the many friends who had shown their love and care during Thelma's illness. Special thanks, also to the care team at Hospice of Union County, Monroe, NC, for their attention to and treatment of Thelma.
Funeral service and burial will be in Mt. Healthy, Ohio. The Paul Young Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
