So sorry to hear about Hazel's passing. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. She was a great aunt, and I will miss her phone calls. Thinking of JoAnn and her family.

Years ago when I was just a kid, my mom and dad used to visit Hazel and Davis fairly often to play cards. I think they played Rook and Setback mostly. I don’t think betting was involved, but I wasn’t there, so I don’t know for sure. My mom only liked to play cards with people who took the game seriously. Hazel and Davis were apparently good at card games, because my parents would never turn down an invite to go play cards with them.

Hazel's laugh and sense of humor is what I will remember most when I think of her. I will miss calling her out of the blue and singing on her answering machine until she decided I was a caller who was worthy of her picking up the phone. From the moment I met Hazel, she welcomed me with open arms and was always so kind to me. I definitely NEVER left her house hungry, that is a fact! To the family, I love Hazel and love you all. I am so very sorry for your loss.
