I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Thelma.
Since I have known her most of my life, and her daughter Lolita is my lifelong friend, she in many ways was like a second mother to me growing up.
I guess I will always remember her interest in the community and writing "Letters to the Editor" in the Arlington paper, and I was amazed at her intelligence in commenting about local politics.
More importantly she was a wonderful mother. She took all kinds of "strays" into her...
