Not sure what to say?

I hope that I can be an example to other women in the many ways Mrs. Monk was to me. My sixth-grade teacher, she showed me that being an excellent student was a good thing. She also showed me that music is a great source of joy and of social contact. I continue to sing in choirs to this day. She taught me to sing harmony and to work with adults in her church choir, being part of a group that she led in her thoughtful way. She was the first soprano I ever remember hearing and wondering at. My...

WE WILL MISS AUNT THELMA SO MUCH. SHE WAS A GREAT, LOVING AND CARING WOMEN. WE ALWAYS ENJOYED THE TIME SHE SPENT WITH OUR FAMILIES FOR THE HOLIDAYS.WE SHARED LOTS OF FUNNY STORIES, LAUGHS AND SPECIAL TIMES. SHE WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR THOUGHTS AND MEMORIES . A REAL LADY OF DIGNITY, A REAL SWEET LADY, WE ALWAYS ENJOYED HER HUMOR. I PICTURE HER REJOICING IN HEAVEN WITH THOSE THAT HAVE GONE ON BEFORE HER. WE LOVE YOU AUNT THELMA

I remember as if it were yesterday...the summer of fifth grade I got the news that I would have Mrs. Thelma Monk for my 6th grade teacher. I panicked! Horror stories traveled through the school on how mean she was.

Wow, were the rumors wrong! It wasn't long before she was inviting me up to her classroom to share an intimate lunch w/her rather than the eat in the cafeteria like most other students. We shared so many stories, laughs and special times. It was an honor! I giggle...

Auth Thelma will be missed deeply. She was such an asset to our family. A lady of dignity, humor, and grace. I can picture her "dancing with our father God in fields of grace" and rejoicing with the reunion with my dad and other loved ones. Our loss, but her gain.

I will miss Aunt Thelma so much, she was
such a wonderful person,such a dear sweet
lady. She was such a part of our family, and we have so many wonderful memories of
her. I will always remember the time she
came to my home for a Mothers Day celebration with my mom and sisters, we
had so much fun, and so did she. A finer, sweeter, more loving lady you will
never meet. I love you Aunt Thelma, and
will see you again someday!

Aunt Thelma,

I will miss you... you were one in a million. Thanks
for all the happy memories, talks, and laughs.
Love Joan

Our condolences from the Bill Edmister Family. Mrs. Monk was a great family friend and my (Rolanda's) 6th Grade Teacher. She made me into a student! She cared so much! A few hours before I learned of her passing, I was telling one of my sons teachers about her...and how much her caring and help in 6th Grade helped me. My sons loved to stop and visit my "lady teacher" when we were in NY for family visits. She was always delighted and delightful. One of our last visits, she said to me, "I sat...
