Not sure what to say?

Dear Carmen, Winfred, and Windol,

As others have expressed Mrs. Tacneau was a significant member of the village of people who joined my family in raising and inspiring me. She was my first school principal at Perkins Road, our neighbor and fellow church member, as well as a hostess at my debutant and wedding events. She was an awesome and amazingly caring person who was a pillar in our community and always there for me. She clearly loved the three of you with ALL her heart. May her...

A great lady. She will be missed.

To the family of Ms. Tacneau,
I was extremely saddened to read in The Advocate of Ms. Tacneau's passing...the more so because the facts of her wonderful career tell the story of a great American and magnificent educator. She was my and all the children from Blundon Home's Principal at Buchanan Elementary. She never forgot where she came from and always reached back and pulled others up. I will be eternally grateful for her driving with Ms. Wells from Baton Rouge to New Orleans to help me...

In loving memory of a great lady!

My family knew her well, she will be truly missed.

Mrs. Tacneau was a remarkable women, a true Servant, my Principal at
Buchanan Elementary. She left a legacy that will never be forgotten. May God Bless and keep you all is my prayer.

Living for the Lord today leaves a lasting legacy when we're gone. God's gift of time. With my deepest sympathy and prayers.

Daisy and family
You have my sincere condolence

I first met Ms. Tacneau during the era of the "New Math". Although she was a principal, she wanted to learn the new math. She attended some session classes for the new math, which I conducted. Thelma Tacneau was a very diligent student, whom I enjoyed teaching.
Later in life she nominated me for a volunteer activist, and I was inducted in 1990, thanks to her. She, her sister and I remained friends throughout her life.

Sincerely,

Rogers J. Newman
