THELMA ISABEL WRIGHT (nee Ashley)
April 9, 1923 – January 24, 2018
On Wednesday, January 24, 2018, Thelma Wright, widow of Ernie Wright, Balgonie, SK died at the age of 94 years. The funeral service will be held in Balgonie United Church, Balgonie, SK on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bev Diduck officiating. Interment in Broadview Cemetery. Thelma was predeceased by her husband and two brothers. She is survived by her children: Wynona (Euan McPhee) Wright, Naomi (John) McLeod, Wanda (John) Barr, Myra (Ray) Sigmeth, David (Janet) Wright, former son-in-law, Leonard Widdup, thirteen grandchildren, twenty two great- grandchildren, two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire contributions may be made to Balgonie United Church Memorial Fund, Box 417, Balgonie, SK S0G 0E0 or to a charity of one's choice. May fond memories of your times together bring you comfort during this hard time in your life. Look back on all the good memories you were able to have and smile at the fact that you were able to share these with her. Thelma was a wonderful, unique, and charismatic lady with great stories. We have lost a great lady. She taught a lot of us about municipal government, and more so life. Thelma has been a mentor and good friend. She will be missed.

Thelma was very enjoyable to be around. Enjoyed her visits at the Golden Sunset Club, the odd road trip we would pick her up and she would have some interesting stories to tell us. We will miss her. Our deepest sympathy to the Wright family.

Our deepest condolences to you all. Our family was very saddened to hear of your Mom's passing. Although our children only met Thelma on her last trip to Vancouver several years ago, we all remembered what a wonderful visit that was. Thelma shared wonderful stories about our Grandparents and told us all about their involvement in planning my parents wedding. She was able to tell us heart felt things that we simply would never have known about, as our parents and grandparents were very modest and never really liked to talk about the past. Thelma was an amazing, truly interesting and very kind person. She is already greatly missed, and our hearts are heavy with sadness.
