Adam and family. My condolences on this great loss. She was a wonderful woman, an excellent educator and a champion of encouragement and confidence. I had the honor while at WCU to attend her writing classes and be a part of her Literary magazine. It was a life changing experience for me. She inspired a confidence in me that I have built on. Great memories of being part of the English department and her endeavors. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord...

I went to the boarding school that her son Adam attended as a day student. We became fast friends and I'm glad to still know him. His mom, Teddy was like a second mom to me, since mine was so far away. I spent a lot of time in her care during a very formative time of my life. When I moved west I lost touch with the Wests, but never forgot her. I'm very sorry for her passing, and very glad for her meaningful and impactful life. My condolences to my friend Adam. I think of you all the time.

Dear, Dear Adam :Your mother's passing is a final chapter of the remaining Richfield Road" family" . Alvin and I are the only remaining ones . Our lives were entwined. We all grew up together. We have an endless treasure of memories that includes you . She made life more beautiful just by being in it. The condolences her students sent are indeed a perfect reflection of her essence. We feel comforted knowing she is at peace. We wish you peace and comfort as well. May her memory be a...

I wish I had tried harder, she was the best writing teacher I have ever had. I remember her saying I had wonderful ideas but horrible mechanics. I took that to heart and learned my mechanics so she would be proud. I did write for the West Chester Daily Local News for awhile and hope she saw that. She was the best. I usually don´t...

Condolences and may you rest in peace.Thank you for the best writing classes and for your creative writing encouragement. Denise Panebianco Butler and Raymond Butler

Through 17 years of formal education, there are a select few educators I recall for various reasons. The image of a tall woman with a rapier wit, and a genuine interest in bringing out the best in her charges always snaps to mind. That was 60 years ago, her personal challenge to me to excel, has never been forgotten, I truly hope I used it wisely, and she´d be OK with the way I handled it. Thanks Dr. West, I truly benefitted from your effort.
