Not sure what to say?

What a beautifully written obituary. Ted you'll be dearly missed by those of us, whose ancestors have traveled this incredible journey across two continents, to find free land and freedom. Eventually we, their children all came together, meeting at GRHS, to honor those brave ancestors that came before us. Thank you for contributing so much for us & future generations. I'll miss your warm smile and kind words at convention, since 1987 .

Ted was a regular mall walker at Rosedale Mall. He would often times stop by the Apple Store to have a chat with one of the Officers working off-duty there. He was quick with a joke, some nugget of wisdom from his years, or some questions for us born out of a genuine interest in our lives. We will miss his visits, and we are glad we got the chance to know him. A Roseville Police Officer

After I was no longer able to do GRHS computer work for Ted, we continued to comunicate about once a month. He continued to always end his notes with the word "Peace". I will miss that sorely, but only say "Peace" for Ted.

I am saddened to read of Ted´s passing. He was always so generous to answer my questions & requests. He always made an attempt to send back something to lesson my frustrations over my research roadblocks. He was a giant in his own right & will leave a great gap when it comes to our German from Russia families. He too will be remembered for his immense discoveries & contributions to our ancestral historical journeys. I salute you, Ted! R.I.P.

I have known Ted since our teaching days in Williston during the early seventies and then rein tied , when I started working on my family geneogly, may he rest in peace. It was always special to connect at convention time

Received an email from Otto today that Ted was gone. I am heartbroken. He was a god to me. Somehow, my great-grandpa slipped through the cracks. Once I convinced Ted we came from Krasna, we compiled my people into his database together. Ted put days of work into my family! Anytime I wanted information he seemed to drop everything to help me! I am sitting here with my 151 page Modified Register for Karl Marte, a gift from Ted, modified because I came into his life and he was forced to add my...

Ted was a good partner in the work for the history of Krasna in Bessarabia. Kirchlinteln, May 27, 2024 Otto Riehl

I am saddened to hear of the loss of Ted. I did a lot of babysitting for Carol and Corinne when they were young. Their home was in my neighborhood and Ted taught school with my Dad. As a person whose German ancestors came from Odessa, Russia, I harbor a special admiration and gratitude to Ted for his enormous contributions to preserve the history of our heritage. Such dedication and hard work to this cause is a remarkable legacy!
