Not sure what to say?

Dear Mary Lou, Suzanne, Scott, and families. Thank you for inviting me to Ted´s internment. It was such a pleasure to be included. I always enjoyed Ted, he was a very kind person. Scott, thank you for sending the card and note. I really appreciated it. I love your mother very much. Love, Linda Ritchie Burns

I still have the books you gave me when I lost mine as an absent minded Chem E foreign grad student. In the 90ies when I joined ORNL and University of Tennessee Knoxville I was in touch with you. When I started to work and travel to Europe I lost touch, I regret that very much. I shall remember you, I will forget you the day I lose the skills of my hands! Now I am a technical advisor to two countries...... i still remember how you supported me intellectually and morally. Thank you for...

To my beloved teacher and mentor. Brilliant, sincere and humble. You took me under your wings and taught me how to fly high and also to land gently. A gentleman and a scholar, may you rest in peace! Naresh

Dear Mary Lou, Scott, and Susanne, Again, we are so very sorry about Ted´s passing. He was a fine person and a brilliant scientist. He was always kind and generous. I know he is really missed. We give you our love. Linda, Mike, and Annie Burns

Thanks Dale and Cynthia for your kind words about my dad. He loved teaching. We weren't sure how to notify any of his graduate students, he had been out of touch with UMD for many years. I'm so glad you both have good memories of him. And it's so like my dad to offer to share his many plants.

When I was a Chemical Engineering student at the University of Maryland in the early 80's, Dr. Cadman, then the department chairperson, took a special interest in my education/career, serving as a mentor and friend. His guidance and encouragement were critical to my development as a successful engineer/scientist. I wish that I had looked him up after graduating to thank him for all he did, but it was only today when I performed an Internet search that I learned of his recent death. My deepest...

I just saw the obituary for Ted today, so I apologize for the lateness in posting this. He was a mentor when I was a graduate student in chemical engineering at the University of Maryland College Park in the late 70's. He was a wonderful and caring professor. I remember once he showed me the very beautiful backyard of his College Park home, which was filled with azaleas in bloom. I still have ground cover (bugleweed) at my house that came from his yard. I was glad to read that he died...
