CANNELLA, Theodore Frank "Ted" passed away on July 15, 2022, at the age of 77, leaving the world without its most beloved, soft-hearted, and utterly irreverent tough guy. Ted grew up in South Tampa as the son of a first-generation immigrant from Sicily and second-generation immigrant from...

Not sure what to say?

There is nothing any of us can really add that would describe Ted better or even close to as well as his beautiful obituary. We all loved him for what he transparently was. May he be enjoying eternity in the house the Lord prepared for him.

Ted was a father to many of us, whom some had and others didn´t, but didn´t matter to him because he cared for so much for so many. 40 years of knowing him as a child and am thankful every day he was a part of my life. I will always be second to you as the king of "the shack"!!! AMDG!!!

I met Ted through a dear friend, Jimmy Cavan, who also played football at Georgia Tech and best friends with Ted. He also became close friends with Allen Ellerbee as well as Rick Thomas who also became legendary in the Life Insurance Industry in the Tampa Bay Area. Ted also had a dear friend Bunky Henry who was a place kicker at Georgia Tech and became a Professional Golfer after leaving Tech. Ted, Jimmy, Allen and Bunky continued their unprecedented relationship and friendship by celebrating...

I met Ted when I was an angry and scared young man. Instead of reciprocating my anger with his, he helped me understand. He was patient. He became my friend. He helped me become a better person. Ted will always be in my heart. Until we meet again, Ted- Jimmy Williamson

So sorry to hear of his passing. My love to family, and pet that sweetheart dog of his for me. RIP I was his health care plan representative for quite a few years. God Bless

Great loss to all that knew him. Our condolencesn to Gigi nd family.

We have many fond memories of Ted from our multiple trips to Cabbage Key. He would donate guided weekend fishing trips to the Tampa Audubon. All proceeds went to charity and I won the bid more than once. I will always remember what wonderful, generous hosts he and Gigi were. I am saddened by the news but grateful for the great memories he left us. My condolences to the family.

I remember I was probably out of high school, and was dating a girl from Hillsborough, we went to one of their football games and all of a sudden people start hollering, "there's Elvis, there's Elvis". I looked over and recognized Ted, but he was getting so much attention he was in a hurry to leave. But the way he combed his "slicked" hair, and he even looked a heck of a lot like Elvis, ... that was really true !!

I've known Ted most of my life. We reunited several years ago at The Cigar City Bible Study Fellowship. Several of our group members would go to lunch with Ted after Bible Study and as you might imagine we enjoyed and had lots of laughs reminiscing our younger years. No doubt Ted was a Believer, it was very obvious each time he volunteered to read scripture at Bible Study. We will miss Ted; however, we know exactly where Ted has been promoted. I will continue to include the family in my daily...
