We only spoke very briefly, but on those few occasions, Mr. Conte, you
helped me to see both sides of an issue. May you rest in peace.

Sybil, Denise and I were very saddened to hear about your loss. Ted was a role model and inspiration for all of the Lion's Distict Governors that followed him. A joke, a smile and strict adherance to procedure were the outside trademarks of his deep compassion and understanding. I am proud to have known and served with Past District Governor Ted.

I will never forget your warm greeting's at state conventions.

Around about 1963 or 64 Mr.Conte loaded up a station wagon and took a load of Boy Scouts to the Outer Banks. In fact, they camped almost next to the Oregon Inlet Bridge (under construction at the time and not open to traffic.)

Mr.Conte arranged it so that those Scouts could walk on that bridge, and marvel at beauty of the Banks.

Thirty something years later, one of those Scouts spent a decade as a Scout Leader.

I was deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Mr. Conte was a very dear person and faithful friend. He will be missed by many.
My prayers are with the family during this most grievous time.

I'm deeply sorry for your loss. My father(George Cumashot)thought so much of Ted personally as well as professionally. Ted was very helpful to me during my dad's illness, I wanted to express my sincere sympathy to all of you.

Lion Ted Conte was a commited dedicated servant. His life was centered around helping others and making a real difference. His work in Lionism and his support of Prevent Blindness Virginia over the years is a testimony to this fine man. He will be missed.
