I'm sorry to read about the passing of this gentleman and hope that your request that veterans attend his funeral is honored. It's remotely possible that my father knew him. He also served in China-Burma-India (mostly Burma) during WWII in the Army Air Corps (as the Air Force was known at that time)and talked about a guy from Kentucky who joked about going back to hide in the woods of Eastern Kentucky where nobody would find him.
