Theodore G. "Bud" Mahas

Bud was a great letter writer. His opinions in the newspaper were always direct and appropriate. At one point the editors of the paper told him that he would only be allowed one letter per month. Another letter he sent to a sub contractor who was not working fast enough on the job he signed the letter "Ebenizer Scrugg". Always interesting working for Bud.

Just learned of Bud´s passing! Condolences to family. He was a great boss to work for at Skyline Construction!

Bud and Barbara were so kind to us when we were just starting out in life as wide-eyed newlyweds living in a basement apartment in their ward. We were some of the people he greeted every week and knew by name. They delighted in our children, and warmly celebrated their births and lives with us. I remember becoming aware of his great professional success and being struck anew by how unpretentious, warmly approachable, and just wonderfully 'regular' they were. 20 years later Bud and Barbara...

The Brown and Foutz families wish to offer their sincere condolences to the Mahas families. We are very sorrowful in hearing of Bud´s passing. He lived a long and joyed life. Bud was one of the most warmest and friendliest people around. It was a joy to be both a competitor and collaborator in the construction industry. Bud immediately captured our respect including our patriarch. Our hearts go out to all of you during these difficult times. You are in our prayers.

We are so grateful for Bud's friendship and kindness to our parents through the years, especially to our mom after each of their spouses passed away, keeping the Sigma Chi/Utah spirit alive and well. Bud was a gentleman of the first order and he will be missed by many people on this earth, and fondly received by many on the other side of the veil.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. I truly treasure the friendship and love that the Mahas family has given me and my family. I definitely the lucky one to have been able to share a part in their lives.

Fondest memories of a wonderful friend at Davis High School, and my first date. Bud, though not an elected DHS officer, took charge and organized several class reunions for our DHS graduating class.
